Highways Highly developed roadway system. Two major Interstate Highways (I-81 and I-26) intersect the REGION, while I-40, I-77, and I-75 are nearby. Air Tri-Cities Regional Airport (TRI) has non-stop service to Atlanta, Charlotte, Detroit, Tampa and Orlando. Non-stop daily service to Chicago O'Hare International Airport begins July 2, 2010. Serviced by Delta, Allegiant Air, US Airways and American Eagle (regional carrier for American Airlines). Additionally, TRI manages an aggressive Air Cargo program, administers Foreign Trade Zone 204, supports and promotes U.S. Customs Port 2027, and provides trade development assistance.
